Perfect for cozy mornings, these donuts are easy to prepare and sure to become a beloved family tradition during the crisp autumn months.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
2 tbsp melted butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp milk (for glaze)
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (melted for drizzle)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and pumpkin pie spice.
In a separate large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.
Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Pipe or spoon the batter into the donut pan cavities.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and milk until smooth to create the glaze.
Dip each cooled donut into the glaze and let set.
Drizzle melted chocolate over the glazed donuts before serving.

Notes

Ensure your pumpkin puree is 100% pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling. For a vegan version, substitute the egg with a flax egg and use plant-based milk and butter. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
