Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup chopped pecans (for crust)
1 cup dark brown sugar
3/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup golden corn syrup
3 large eggs
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups chopped pecans (for topping)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and granulated sugar.
Cut in the 1 cup of softened butter until the mixture is crumbly, then stir in 1/2 cup of chopped pecans.
Press the crust mixture firmly into the prepared baking pan and bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
While the crust is baking, whisk together the brown sugar, maple syrup, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt in a bowl.
Stir in the remaining 3 cups of pecans into the sugar mixture.
Pour the pecan filling evenly over the warm, partially baked crust.
Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until the center is set.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
For best results, allow the bars to cool completely to room temperature or chill in the refrigerator to ensure clean, precise slices. These can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
