A modern trifle layers fudgy chocolate brownies, silken caramel cheesecake, and velvet whipped cream. This nostalgic dessert blends bold chocolate, rich caramel, and airy textures for a harmonious, crowd-pleasing treat.
Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 large eggs
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (halal-compliant)
16 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup non-alcoholic caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 tbsp non-alcoholic vanilla extract
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp powdered sugar (halal-compliant)
Additional caramel sauce for drizzling
Finely chopped nuts (optional)
Chopped dark chocolate for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla. Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture, blending until smooth.
Fold in chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared dish and spread evenly. Bake 20-25 minutes, until center springs back when pressed.
Let brownies cool completely. Meanwhile, in a blender, combine cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, caramel sauce, and vanilla. Blend until smooth and silky.
Spoon caramel cheesecake layer over cooled brownies. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
Before serving, whip cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread whipped cream over cheesecake layer.
Drizzle with additional caramel sauce and garnish with chopped nuts, chocolate, or other desired toppings.
Notes
Brownies can be prepared a day in advance. Substitute caramel sauce with non-alcoholic toffee for a different twist. Refrigerate trifle for up to 3 days. For a halal-certified option, use certified ingredients.
