Description

A delicate, aromatic waffle infused with bergamot-scented Earl Grey tea, paired with bright, sweet-tart mixed berries. A comforting, elegant twist on a breakfast classic that balances floral warmth with fresh fruit.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon Earl Grey tea leaves (ground)
2 large eggs
1 1/4 cups milk (non-dairy optional)
1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup fresh mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)

Instructions

Preheat waffle iron to desired temperature
In a medium bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and ground Earl Grey leaves
In a separate bowl, beat eggs, then mix in milk, softened butter, and vanilla until smooth
Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients; gently fold to avoid overmixing
Fold in half of the mixed berries
Grease waffle iron and portion batter evenly
Cook waffles until golden and crisp
Toss remaining berries in a little sugar and serve warm over waffles

Notes

For stronger tea flavor, steep the leaves in hot milk for 5 minutes before straining and using
Substitute non-dairy milk for dairy-free version
Use frozen berries (drained) if out of season
Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2 days
