Description

These delightful mini apple pie tarts capture the nostalgic essence of a classic homemade dessert in perfectly portioned, bite-sized servings. Each tart features a tender, flaky crust cradling a spiced apple filling, finished with a crunchy, buttery oat-based crumble. They are the ideal treat for gatherings or quiet moments, offering a comforting blend of warm cinnamon and sweet fruit that feels like a gentle embrace in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

2 pie crusts, chilled
2.5 cups diced crisp apples (such as Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
0.33 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
0.5 cup rolled oats (for crumble topping)
0.25 cup all-purpose flour (for crumble)
0.25 cup brown sugar (for crumble)
0.25 cup cold butter, cubed (for crumble)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a muffin tin.
Roll out the chilled pie crusts and cut into rounds using a cookie cutter or glass, pressing them gently into the muffin tin cups.
In a medium bowl, combine the diced apples, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well coated.
In a separate small bowl, mix the oats, 0.25 cup flour, 0.25 cup brown sugar, and cold cubed butter using a fork or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Divide the apple filling evenly among the prepared pie crust shells.
Sprinkle the oat crumble topping over each apple-filled tart.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling.
Allow the tarts to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or refrigerate for up to five days. To reheat, warm briefly in a toaster oven to restore the crispness of the crust and crumble.
