Description
A comforting peach crisp made with sweet, tender fresh peaches beneath a crispy golden-brown oat and pecan topping.
Ingredients
- 5 cups sliced peaches, peeled or unpeeled
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, light or dark
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, very cold and cubed
- 2/3 cup old-fashioned whole rolled oats or quick oats
- 2/3 cup unsalted pecans, chopped or halved
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 2 to 2.5-quart baking dish.
2. Combine peaches, flour, sugar, salt, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.
3. Spread the peach filling evenly into the prepared baking dish.
4. Whisk brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt together in a medium bowl.
5. Cut in the cold cubed butter with a pastry cutter or forks until the mixture is crumbly.
6. Fold in the oats and pecans.
7. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the peach filling.
8. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
9. Cool on a wire rack before serving warm, at room temperature, or cold.
