Description

Ingredients
- 1 box (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
- Ingredients required for cake mix, such as eggs, oil, and water
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups chopped fresh strawberries
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 inch pan.
2. Prepare chocolate cake mix according to package directions.
3. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth, then fold in strawberries.
4. Pour half of the chocolate batter into the prepared pan.
5. Dollop strawberry cheesecake mixture evenly over the batter.
6. Pour remaining chocolate batter over top without fully smoothing.
7. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts evenly on top.
8. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the center is just set and the top is crackly.
9. Cool for 15–20 minutes before serving.
Notes
Do not overmix the layers to achieve the signature earthquake effect.
